Terrific Teal

Teal, turquoise, deep blue green….ah…whatever you call it, this is one of my favorite shades on the color spectrum! I love the cool yet deep color, rich and relaxing all at the same time. In fact, I just finished a set of beautiful teal fingerless gloves, and it is all I can do not to keep them for myself instead of putting them up for sale at Lemon Lane Organics! Since I find this color so inspiring, I thought I would put together a collection of some terrific teal finds from a few of my friends over on the Christian Artists Street Team. I hope you like what you see here!

Etsy Shop Spotlight: The Indigo Forest

Hey everyone! I’m taking a break from my rather busy week to start a new little feature on my blog…the Etsy Shop Spotlight! This first one is sort of a test, so let me know what you think! My first entry is highlighting The Indigo Forest, a fun little shop that I think you will just love!

Shop owner, Kellie, is a wife and mom of three little boys, and she enjoys making Eco-friendly toys and other items that the whole family can appreciate. She has a nice variety of Waldorf-inspired wooden toys like the color-mixing acorn game above and the counting gnomes shown below. She uses only AP certified non-toxic water colors and her very own homemade beeswax polish (also available for purchase in her shop) to paint and seal her wooden toys.

Kellie also makes some really cute embellishments and supplies, like the fabric covered buttons below. Every item in her shop has a touch of whimsy and lots of handmade love! I hope you will stop by and show her a little love! 🙂
Other places you can connect with Kellie and The Indigo Forest are via her Facebook page and blog!

If you are an Etsy seller and would be interested in exchanging blog posts (or an ad space on your blog) as part of my Etsy Shop Spotlight, please contact me! Let’s help one another! 🙂 Have a great weekend!

PS–don’t forget about my giveaway of a $25 gift certificate to Lemon Lane Organics! You can enter here (mobile friendly!)

Springtime is so “tweet!”

Spring is definitely in the air in Southern Illinois! The forsythia bushes are in shining bright with their yellow blossoms. The grass is green and growing tall enough to mow. My rhubarb plants are shooting up so quickly that I see a pie in my very near future. And the birds are constantly tweeting and singing outside my open window!

So, I decided it was high time for a little spring shop update, inspired by those chirping birdies and the bright sunshine. Two new felt bird sunglasses/eyeglasses cases are now up for sale! These have been a big hit with previous buyers, so hurry on over to snatch one up for yourself today!

I also still have the Green Bird case, Rosey Red case and Posey Pink case left over from last season. Now that the sun is shining again, you’ll want something to protect your sunglasses when you are on the go. Soft upcycled wool felt is the perfect thing! Hope you’ll hop on over to Cocoa Cream’s and check out all the springy sweetness!

Turtle Love on Etsy

This morning’s turtle sightings outdoors made me think of what fun turtle-themed items could be found on Etsy. So, after much searching, here are some of my favorites! Everything from ceramics to housewares to accessories, all inspired by the turtle! Amazing!

Shop Re-opening!

I have revamped my Etsy shop and decided to re-open at last! I plan to make more items of the same type, offering them in a variety of colors, rather than doing so many of the one-of-a-kind items as I did before. I’m hoping this will create more of a draw to new customers as well as a motivation to return for more. I think it may help promote more of a “tell your friends” atmosphere, too! I’m also hoping to promote my shop more by word of mouth around our new town. I’ve heard about more local farmer’s markets and craft fairs, so I need to look into those!

Anyway, here’s a peak at what I put up for sale today:

My goal now is to update my shop with one new item every week for one month. So, if you like what you see so far, come back next week and see what’s new! Oh, and don’t forget to tell your friends! :o)
